Luxley brings his Wildfire Dance to North America and it's hot.

luxley_head300sq.pngLuxley is on his Fall tour of North American - West Coast, Canada, Midwest, and East Coast - including my hometown venue of  the Wiltern Theater, and another favorite of mine, San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre,.  He is also filling the seats at Seattle’s The Show Box, Boston’s House of Blues, New York City’s Terminal 5, along with with the 2014 Mercury Prize Finalist Bombay Bicycle Club and cinematic pop quintet Milo Greene. Leading Indie music show and tastemaker, BalconyTV, praises Luxley, stating “from end to end, Luxley is an eclectic package prepared to bring a fully unique experience to both the stage and your car stereo.”

Luxley, aka, Ryan Gray, left a promising career in medicine in Nashville and reconnected with the local NOLA scene and old friend (now manager and founder of Rude Fox Records) Sky McElroy, and began recording his new music. The result is about to be released in his debut album Spirit. Slated for release in early 2015, Luxley’s Spirit EP marks the return of co-producer and former Passion Pit member Ayad Al-Adhamy to the world of catchy, synth-pop hooks from his guitar driven, punk rock anthem slinging project Team Spirit and production of Black Bell Records. Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, The Strokes) lends his ear as engineer and mixer, helping to draw out the indie, pop, and timeless dance synth-centric elements. I get to see him live this Friday night at the Wiltern and you get to talk with him live Friday morning , right here on Music FridayLive!.
